Four Quartets
T. S. Eliot
Four Quartets is T.S. Eliot's finest work, a series of four poems that explore the cyclical nature of life, spirituality, philosophy, and personal themes through symbolic allusions and literary and religious references. Each quartet has five "movements" and is titled by a place name. Addressing the connections of the personal and historical present and past, spiritual renewal, and the nature of experience, Four Quartets is considered the poet's clearest exposition of his Christian beliefs.
