This Side of Murder

This historical mystery novel takes place post-World War I in England. The protagonist, Verity Kent, receives a suspicious letter suggesting that her late husband may have committed treason. On a quest to uncover the truth, Verity attends an engagement party and discovers dark secrets and a murder meant to conceal them. With only a coded letter and the help of a stranger, Verity must come to terms with the possibility that her husband was not the man she thought he was.
