Capitalism without Capital book cover

Capitalism without Capital

The Rise of the Intangible Economy

Jonathan Haskel

"Capitalism without Capital" explores the quiet revolution occurring in the 21st century, one where intangible assets like design and software are becoming more important than tangible assets. The book discusses how this shift has impacted economic changes in the past decade, including growing inequality and productivity stagnation. The authors highlight the unique economic characteristics of intangible investment and offer insights on how managers, investors, and policymakers can leverage the intangible age to grow their businesses, portfolios, and economies.

The book is eye opening, but it’s not for everyone. Although Haskel and Westlake are good about explaining things, you need some familiarity with economics to follow what they’re saying. If you’ve taken an economics course or regularly read the finance section of the Economist, however, you shouldn’t have any trouble following their arguments.      fuente
