The Possibility of an Absolute Architecture

This book proposes that a sharpened formal consciousness in architecture is necessary for engagement with the city. The author uses the term "absolute" to denote something resolutely itself after being separated from its other, the space of the city. Through examining the work of four architects, the book addresses the transformations of the modern city and its urban implications through the elaboration of specific and strategic architectural forms.
