Rock-climbing offers an intensity that momentarily erases the outside world, leading to addiction and camaraderie, but at a cost.

Climbers remains one of my favourite books. I’m still not convinced it’s not a fantasy novel. But I’m also not entirely convinced that it is. Whatever it is, it’s beautiful and moving and remarkable. – fuente
