The Politics of Us and Them
Jason Stanley - 2018-09-04
Рейтинг Goodreads
This book delves into the dangerous rise of fascist politics that are sweeping across America and the world. The author, a philosopher and expert on propaganda, identifies the ten pillars of fascist politics, analyzing their grim history and horrifying effects. Through reflections on history, philosophy, sociology, and critical race theory, and real-life examples from Hungary, Poland, India, Myanmar, and the United States, the author identifies alarming patterns that are as prevalent today as ever. This book is an essential guidebook to understanding the current national dilemma of democracy vs. authoritarianism.

@747Retired I just finished @jasonintrator's "How Fascism Works." Great book. Scary. Also,I see several characteristics of fascism that are very similar to aspects of thinking in alternative medicine, particularly the emphasis on purity, a mythical lost past, and "natural law.      источник

Discover the motivations behind Holocaust denial in Denying History. Historians Michael Shermer and Alex Grobman dig deep into the culture of revisionists to show how we can confirm historical events, including the Holocaust. This expanded edition includes a new chapter and epilogue on current, mainstream revisionism.

Mr. Shermer once did good work on the Holocaust and Holocaust denial. His book on Holocaust denial, Denying History, was excellent and inspired me. So why the disconnect? 5/      источник

"Alt-America" by David Neiwert explores the rise of white supremacists, xenophobes, and militia leaders in the US since the 1990s. Investigative journalist Neiwert provides an authoritative and deeply reported investigation on the growth of Far Right movements across the country, including an in-depth look at Trump's ties to these figures. This crucial book sheds light on a disturbing side of American society that has been ignored by the political establishment and mainstream media.
