150 Glimpses of the Beatles
Craig Brown - 2020-04-02
Рейтинг Goodreads
This book offers a wide-ranging and kaleidoscopic portrait of the Beatles phenomenon, delving into a vast catalog of heretofore unexamined lore. Part anthropology and part memoir, this humorous, elegiac, and at times madcap take on the Beatles' role in the making of the sixties and of music as we know it is enriched by the recollections of everyone from Tom Hanks to Bruce Springsteen.

Adored Craig Brown’s brilliant ‘One Two Three Four: The Beatles In Time’. Funny, fascinating and beautifully structured with many detailed and engrossing tangents. Much like Mark Harris’ book on Mike Nichols, my reading slowed in the last few chapters as it didn’t want it to end.      источник

Рейтинг Goodreads
This compelling book tackles an often-overlooked topic: the history of anti-Semitism. Comedian and writer David Baddiel argues that those fighting against racism, homophobia, transphobia, and disablism have missed an important subject. In this thought-provoking read, Baddiel presents his case with a unique combination of jokes, personal experience, and reasoning. Discover why, in a world focused on minority rights, Jews don’t count as a real minority.

Will add to the chorus of great reviews for @Baddiel's 'Jews Don't Count'; a fascinating, thought provoking and thorough account of the biases, blind spots and hypocrisies of progressives. The book is literally a longer conversation than what can be said on Twitter. A must read.      источник

Five Came Back offers a remarkable look at Hollywood's relationship with Washington, its role in shaping America's mindset during the war, and its transformation on both a human and industry level.

'Them: Adventures With Extremists' by @jonronson is 20 this year. I'm not sure there's been a non-fiction book that was more of an ominous bellwether of what was to come... Required reading then, and shockingly ahead of its time, now.      источник
