Six Not-So-Easy Pieces

Einstein’s Relativity, Symmetry, and Space-Time

Richard P. Feynman

This book explores Einstein's Theory of Relativity, one of the most revolutionary breakthroughs in 20th century physics. Drawn from Richard Feynman's celebrated three-volume Lectures on Physics, these lectures delve into the beauty and elegance behind the seemingly crazy notions that the flow of time is not constant, the mass of an object depends on its velocity, and the speed of light is a constant no matter what. Feynman explains these difficult, anti-intuitive concepts with clarity, verve, and gusto, making them accessible to both scientists and laypeople. A must-read for anyone interested in physics or looking to expand their understanding of the world.

I would give my kids a copy of Richard Feynman's Six Easy Pieces and Six Not-So-Easy Pieces: Einstein’s Relativity, Symmetry, and Space. Richard Feynman is a famous physicist. I love both his demeanor as well as his understanding of physics.      source
