Heartland is a special place nestled in the hills of Virginia, where mistreated animals come to learn to trust humans again. When unsympathetic Ashley Grant comes for help with Magnifico, a magnificent jumper, Amy is wary but willing. As they train together, Amy sees a different side to Ashley. However, working at Heartland is about helping animals, not fulfilling personal ambitions. Through successes and setbacks on the circuit with her horse, Thunder, Amy learns there's more to life than winning.
