The Silmarillion

J. R. R. Tolkien

This epic and imaginative work by J.R.R. Tolkien delves into the creation of the world and the history of the First Age. Featuring the tale of the three Silmarils, jewels that held the Light of Valinor, and the war waged against the great Enemy, this book serves as a precursor to THE LORD OF THE RINGS. Don't miss out on this stunning collection of tales and legends that Tolkien considered his most important work.

@crousselle You really still need to read the books, though. Start with the Hobbit, go through the trilogy, and then read The Silmarillion. You can start with the Silmarillion, but it may not work as well unless you've read the trilogy.      source
