The Spiritual Exercises
St. Ignatius of Loyola
The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola is a brief set of Christian meditations, prayers, and mental exercises, designed to be carried out over a period of 28 to 30 days. Written by Spanish knight and theologian, Ignatius of Loyola, this spiritual guide is aimed at helping the retreatant discern Jesus in their life and make a personal commitment to follow it. Though the exercises are rooted in Catholic tradition, they can be beneficial to non-Catholics as well. This spiritual classic has been approved since 1548 and is still widely used today.
