The Troubled Man

A retired naval officer goes missing during his daily walk in the forest, leading to an investigation by Stockholm police. The case has nothing to do with our protagonist, detective Kurt Wallander - officially. However, when he discovers that the man is his daughter's future father-in-law, Wallander takes it upon himself to interfere. His investigations lead to Cold War espionage activities, which are inextricably confounding, even for Wallander. Additionally, he's struggling with personal issues such as health and the past catching up with him. Can he solve the case, while also confronting his own demons?
