You Are Not So Smart book cover

You Are Not So Smart

Why You Have Too Many Friends on Facebook, Why Your Memory Is Mostly Fiction, an d 46 Other Ways You're Deluding Yourself

David McRaney

Discover Your Delusions: You Are Not So Smart dives into the stupid beliefs that make us feel wise, revealing that we all think we are rational beings making logical decisions. But the truth is, we are just as deluded as everyone else - and that's perfectly okay. Through short chapters on topics like learned helplessness and the illusion of transparency, this book is like a psychology course without the boring parts. Combining humor, wit, and popular science, it celebrates our thoroughly human, irrational behavior.

Both books are absolutely essential to me in order to keep my perspectives correct in a changing world.      source

Great summary of 46 cognitive biases. Much of it covered in other books like Predictably Irrational, but if you haven't read those, this is a great starting book. Otherwise, just a good reminder, and worth reading.      source
