Dutch Girl

Audrey Hepburn and World War II

Robert Matzen

This riveting biography delves into the untold story of Audrey Hepburn's intense experiences during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Despite her father's Nazi ties and her mother's pro-Nazi stance, Hepburn participated in the Dutch Resistance, worked as a doctor's assistant, and became Arnhem's most famous young ballerina. Through wartime diaries, Audrey's own reminiscences, and research in classified Dutch archives, readers gain insight into the war that shaped her into the beloved Hollywood icon she became. With never-before-seen photos, this book is a must-read for Hepburn fans and history buffs alike.

@UltimateBruin I love Audrey Hepburn, too. You are right @JoNosuchinsky could play her in a bio-pic. You might like the book/audio of Audrey’s harrowing World War II years in Holland, called The Dutch Girl by Robert Matzen. I found it fascinating. 😘      source
