Follow the incredible life of Septima Clarke, a little-recognized but essential figure in the Civil Rights Movement. As a public school teacher in South Carolina, she was dismissed for her membership in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, leading her to work at the Highlander Folk School and set up Citizenship Schools to help Black adults learn to read and vote.
