"Wintertide" follows two thieves, Royce and Hadrian, as they plan to disrupt the New Empire's elaborate execution and forced marriage ceremony during their victory over the Nationalists. With a double execution and a forced wedding in the works, Royce and Hadrian have other plans, causing chaos and mayhem for the empire.
